Senior Friendship Café

Patrick Henry Memorial Library in Brookneal
This free Living Life Well program for adults will be include fun, learning, and fellowship. Play puzzles and games and color to keep your brain active. Get information about community resources and services. Enjoy lunch, provided by the Friends of the Patrick Henry Memorial Library.
Roots Club Presents: Genealogy of African American Life at Patrick Henry's Red Hill Plantation
Thursday, May 16, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Timbrook Library
Genealogist Peighton Young will discuss how Red Hill is honoring and preserving the enslaved and post-slavery African American historical experience between 1794 and 1944 through genealogy research, descendant engagement initiatives, and public programming. Rustburg Library
In this free Living Life Well program for adults, you will receive guidance in creating a medical and emergency binder to keep track of medications, doctor visits, and other planning needs.
Storytime Picnic
Each Thursday through May 16, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Timbrook Library
We bring the book, outdoor games, and fun, and you bring a snack (optional) and enjoy the day. This event will be located at the pavilion between the library and baseball fields. The rain location will be the lower level of the library. We will read the selected book on and off throughout the event, do themed crafts, and play yard games. Swing by anytime between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Geared toward ages 0 – 5.
Enchanted Trail
Friday, May 17, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Timbrook Library
This free program is an immersive, outdoor story experience for families to enjoy on the Timbrook Park trails. Families are given a scavenger hunt to enjoy as they walk the trail and read a story together. It’s a 15 – 30 minute experience. Geared toward pre-school and elementary students, and the whole family is welcome. This is a completely outdoor event, and the trail is not stroller friendly.
