About The Program
The programs and activities of the Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP) enhance the quality, and affordability of childcare available to Virginia's families. CCSP works in conjunction with local departments of social services to operate the childcare subsidy program to enable parents to work, look for employment, and enroll in educational programs. CCSP also encourages early childhood development.
Program Objectives
- Implement a quality rating and improvement system for center-based and home-based child care programs;
- Educate parents about the characteristics of high-quality child care;
- Provide a professional development system for the child care workforce;
- Collaborate with early care and education partners for a better coordinated early childhood network in VA; and,
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations through performance-based contracting, performance monitoring, and sound fiscal stewardship.
