[ARCHIVED] Household Haz Mat and Electronics Recycling Day

A regional Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 13  from 8 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Concord Turnpike Convenience Center, 2525 Concord Turnpike, Lynchburg (not Concord Village/transfer site).

Those wishing to recycling materials will need to bring a photo Identification and a required Household Hazardous Waste Form (pdf) 

General Guidelines:

Hazardous Materials and Electronics are accepted including: 

  • Acids
  • Furniture Stripper
  • Polishes
  • Aerosols
  • Herbicides
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Antifreeze
  • Kerosene
  • Poisons
  • Auto Starter
  • Lighter Fluids
  • Solvents & Thinners
  • Brake Fluids
  • Light Bulbs
  • Used Motor Oil
  • Batteries
  • Oven Cleaners
  • Weed Killers
  • Cleaners 
  • Oxidizers
  • Wood Preservatives
  • Corrosives
  • Oil Based Paints 
  • Flammables
  • Drain Openers
  • Pesticides
  • Photo Chemical
  • Solvents

Please bring items in non-returnable containers. Trailers and box trucks are prohibited from this event. 

Please do not bring latex paint (as you may add cat litter or sand to fully dry and place in your regular weekly trash).

There is no fee for the HHW collection service.
