Two free events for children and adults will be held in Rustburg on Saturday, July 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Campbell County Department of Social Services will hold a Free Children’s Book Fair at the Social Services Building, located at 69 Kabler Lane, Rustburg.
And the Campbell County Public Library will hold its Summer Reading Program Finale at Rustburg Library, located at 684 Village Highway, Rustburg.
At the book fair, free books will be provided to children who attend the event. The event is open to the public. No pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Anita Hawkins at 434-332-9691 or anita.hawkins@dss.virginia.gov.
The reading program finale is also open to the public. There will be a Makerspace Labrary, games, activities, and more. For more information, go to the library’s website or call 434-332-9560.
Collecting Books
Social Services is seeking donations from the community of gently used or new books for children of all ages for the book fair.
The individual or group who brings in the most children’s book between July 1 and July 22 will receive a $25 donated cash prize. On the honor system, drop off your books at one of the designated locations and let Anita Hawkins know your count at 434-332-9691 or anita.hawkins@dss.virginia.gov.
You can donate books by dropping them off at the Social Services Building; at the Campbell County Parks and Recreation Department, 34 Rails End Lane, Rustburg; and any branch of the Campbell County Public Library.
