RUSTBURG, VA - The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize and thank the Rustburg Ruritan Club for their generous donation of Rudy Bears, which will be carried by deputies and distributed to children experiencing traumatic or difficult situations.

Rudy Bear is the official mascot of Ruritan National, a civic service organization founded in 1928 that works to improve communities through fellowship, goodwill, and service. With nearly 30,000 members in clubs across the United States, Ruritans dedicate their efforts to meeting local needs through volunteerism and charitable initiatives. Rudy represents kindness, comfort, and community spirit — values the Rustburg Ruritan Club continues to embody.

“Children are often the most vulnerable during emergencies,” said Sheriff Whit Clark. “Thanks to the generosity of the Rustburg Ruritan Club, our deputies will now have Rudy Bears on hand to offer comfort to children when they need it most. Something as simple as a teddy bear can help calm fears and provide reassurance in moments of crisis.”

The Rustburg Ruritan Club has a long history of service in Campbell County, supporting a wide variety of local causes and organizations. Their latest donation ensures that deputies are better equipped to provide emotional support alongside their law enforcement duties.

Brad Hall, President of the Rustburg Ruritan Club, shared: “Our goal as Ruritans is to serve the community we live in. Giving these bears to kids facing trauma is a small gesture, but one we believe can make a big difference.”

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office deeply values its partnership with community organizations like the Rustburg Ruritans. Together, through acts of generosity and service, we continue to strengthen Campbell County and ensure it remains a safe and caring place for all residents.
