[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Needed - Concord Community Shed Promotes Sustainability and Community Connection

Heading (8)

OPENING SOON! Campbell County is pleased to announce an initiative aimed at preventing useful items from entering the waste stream - a community shed, located at the Concord Convenience Center (7525 Village Highway, Concord). Promoting reuse and recycling, the Concord Community Shed seeks to support sustainability efforts in our community while also encouraging residents to participate in a collaborative effort to help one another.

The small building will serve as a designated space where community members can donate smaller, gently-used items they no longer need, which will then be made accessible to others in the community. From tools to  household items, the Concord Community Shed will provide a solution for individuals looking to declutter while ensuring that still-usable items find new homes.

“This initiative is a commitment to sustainability. By promoting sharing and repurposing, we’re not only reducing waste but also nurturing a community that values resourcefulness and cooperation.”,” said Brian Stokes, Director of Public Works.

To make this effort a success, we are seeking enthusiastic volunteers (ages 18 and up) to assist with the collection, organization, and management of donated items. For those interested in volunteering or learning more about the Concord Community Shed, please contact Diane at (434) 534-1158.

We invite all Campbell County residents to be a part of this exciting initiative toward reducing waste and building a stronger, more collaborative community.
