[ARCHIVED] Campbell County Sheriff's Office Enhances Community Safety with Project Lifesaver Training

RUSTBURG, VA - This week, members of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office completed Project Lifesaver International training; they were certified as Electronic Search Specialists and Instructors. 

Project Lifesaver is a rapid response program aiding citizens who have a family member diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, Downs Syndrome, and traumatic brain injury; sometimes these family members will wander and become lost, bolt and run, or elope and cannot take care of themselves.

Project Lifesaver trained Deputies use state of the art technology to locate Project Lifesaver clients with an average search time of 30 minutes or less.

Project Lifesaver is provided to Campbell County residents free of charge and participation is voluntary.

Deputies Funderburk, Osbourne, Cash, Sgt Richey, Lt. Sosnowski and Lt. Tweedy completed the courses that were taught by Deputy Gary W. Reynolds who is a National Instructor for Project Lifesaver.
