Campbell County, along with other Region 2000 localities, is part of a regional study and planning effort for refuse and solid waste disposal for the upcoming decades.

We value the insights of Campbell County residents, and your feedback is very important in guiding this long-term planning process.

We ask that you consider participating in a series of short surveys over the next year. The first survey is available on the study’s website (link below). Click on “Share Your Input” for the current survey.

We also ask that you visit the study’s website often and share ideas and suggestions.

Informational meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 4025 Wards Road, Lynchburg, VA. These sessions will explain what happens to trash/debris from the time it leaves a residence or business until the time it is processed at the regional landfill. Topics such as recycling, source reduction, reuse, waste-to-energy options, and alternative landfilling practices will also be discussed that evening.
