Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a nationally acclaimed program and the largest volunteer program for adults age 55 and older. The local program began in 1972. RSVP has over 200 volunteers that serve over 40 local agencies in Central Virginia. It is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service and Campbell County.

Our main objective is to enable all persons who want to volunteer to give their time and share their talents. The volunteers who cross our threshold are a cross section of Central Virginia, people who have a little more time and a lot more experience to share and the passion to make a difference in their community.

Joining RSVP and Membership Benefits

Aside from the positive benefits of enjoying a higher quality of life and feeling immense personal satisfaction, RSVP provides insurance coverage while volunteering, mileage reimbursement, recognition events, and the opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships. Please contact our office for more information or to begin your membership today.

Where Do Our Volunteers Serve?

With this program, there is a huge variety of volunteer positions available. Our volunteers get to choose the hours they work, where they want to volunteer, and the type of work they do. Our partner agencies range from organizers of one-time events to facilities which serve our community in health, education, the arts, and public safety.
