The Campbell County Parks and Recreation Department has teamed up with Brookville High School Women’s Tennis Coach Kendra Turner to offer a youth tennis clinic for beginner and intermediate players.
Mrs. Turner is a 4.0 ranked tennis player. Her experience includes playing for four years on the Brookville High School team, four years for Lynchburg College, and coaching 12 years at William Campbell High School. Clinic time: 9 a.m. – 12 noon
Location: Brookville High School Tennis Courts
Cost: $10 per person
Registration deadline: Friday, Oct. 20
Description: The clinic is for beginners and intermediate players. Skills taught will be the grip, body position, addressing the ball, scoring the game, and basic serve. Skills will be taught for those players who have had previous lessons or played organized tennis. Many of the skills taught are the same for both beginners and intermediates, but players will be evaluated and taught based on their skill level.
Equipment needed by all participants: tennis racket, hat or sun visor, sunglasses, and tennis shoes (no open toed shoes).
