Special Operations

The Special Response Team or S.R.T. was established in 1989 as a specialized unit of the Campbell County Sheriff's Department to answer the growing threat to law enforcement officers and the communities.

It was designed to maintain a unit of select, trained and equipped officers to contain, stabilize, and/ or terminate situations including, but not limited to, armed and barricaded criminal or demented persons, hostage cases, high risk search warrants, sniper incidents, and any known or threatened ambush attacks with the ultimate goal to protect the lives of citizens and resolve the special situation task.
