Community Emergency Response Team

Based on a hazards analysis of the area, the primary hazards in Campbell County are hazardous material incidents (fixed site and transportation), flooding of area streams and rivers and severe weather events to include winter storms, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes. In our post September 11th world, terrorism is now a factor to be considered in disaster planning.
Communities need to be prepared for natural or man-made disasters. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) encourages community preparedness.
If you are interested in providing help to members of your community during a disaster and would like to be trained by emergency personnel in basic response skill, CERT may be for you. CERT members can assist in the event of a disaster if local emergency response is delayed or overwhelmed. CERT training may help save lives when a disaster strikes.
