Public Safety  Information Systems Specialist - Communications Technician

The Department of Public Safety is looking for an organized, forward thinking, and motivated candidate to fill the position of Information Systems Specialist-Communication Technician. Applicants must have excellent customer service skills as well as thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and other applications as needed. Duties of this position include but are not limited to managing Emergency Communications Center databases, activation, deactivation, programming and reprogramming of radios and the overseeing of radio and microwave licenses. Other responsibilities include the installation of radios, light bars, sirens, laptops, etc. in vehicles. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or completion of advanced computer science courses from an accredited college or university. Additional education and/or training may be substituted where applicable. This position requires six (6) years of related experience.

Starting salary range: $30,975-$34,515 depending upon qualifications and experience; plus an excellent benefits package. Previous applicants need not reapply.

The Campbell County Department of Public Safety, EMS Division is seeking a motivated, customer service oriented and skilled Emergency Medical Service provider.  Applicants must have current Virginia EMS certification at the level of EMT-Intermediate or higher, NIMS IS-700 and NIMS IS-100 certification along with current EVOC and CPR certifications. In addition, candidates must be certified as a Virginia Firefighter 1 or higher.  Preference will be given to candidates possessing current EMT-Instructor certification, ALS Coordinator certification, CPR Instructor certification and other ancillary instructor qualifications as the person selected for this position may be assigned to full time training duties. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, DMV record check, and criminal history background check.
