Sheds, Storage Buildings, Carports, Pole Structures
If your structure meets the following requirements you will need a shrink/swell soils test:
- is on a continuous footing
- is more than 50 feet away from any other structure
Our office will need the original copy of this test.
Sheds/Storage Buildings
You will need to complete an application form indicating:
- contractor information
- the amount of land you are going to disturb
- the zoning drawing indicating how far from each property line the structure will be.
Please include all other buildings/structures that are currently located on your property as well as where the proposed building is going. If the structure is pre-manufactured we will need to know the wind & snow load information from the manufacturer.
If the structure you are planning to construct is under 150 square feet it does not require a building permit, however, it does require a zoning permit and an erosion & sediment control permit depending on the amount of land you disturb.
