The Campbell County Planning Commission Meeting scheduled for Monday, April 27 has been canceled. The next regularly scehduled meeting will convene on Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Haberer Building Board Rooom (47 Courthouse Lane) Rustburg, VA.

The Campbell County Department of Social Services, Campbell County Department of Youth, Adult & Community Services, Campbell County Senior Recreation, Amherst Department of Social Services and the Appomattox Department of Social Services invite all local senior citizens to participate in the 2015 Senior Awareness Day event: A Heart for Life. This one-day program will be offered on Tuesday, April 28 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502. All activities are free to the public; no pre-registration is required.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is providing the public with an opportunity to submit to DEQ written comments on the Leesville Auto-Cycle vs. Continuous Release Study (Study) dated February 2015; this was submitted by the Appalachian Power Company, in accordance with Virginia Water Protection (VWP) Permit No. 08-0572 for the Smith Mountain Project located in Franklin, Bedford, Pittsylvania and Campbell Counties, Virginia.

The Campbell County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program ( R.S.V.P.) held its annual recognition luncheon on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Waterlick Moose Lodge (934 Waterlick Rd, Lynchburg, VA). Campbell County RSVP, a local volunteer program for Americans ages 55 and older, currently enrolls over 270 senior volunteers who serve in various organizations throughout the Region 2000 area. These individuals perform needed support duties in hospitals, thrift stores, food pantries, nursing homes, museums, and local churches. Collectively, these community servants have provided 29,000+ volunteer hours to local agencies in 2014.

2014 Board of Supervisors

Campbell County is governed by a seven-member Board of Supervisors serving four-year staggered terms. 

Regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Supervisors are  held on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. with the Board addressing administrative items, as needed, until 6:00 p.m. The Board will recess from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., reconvening at 7:00 p.m. to address any unfinished matters and/or conduct any scheduled public hearings. Board of Supervisors meetings are held on the basement level of the Haberer Building, 47 Courthouse Lane, Rustburg, VA 24588.
