Community Involvement

In 2008, Campbell County employees again participated in the United Way of Central Virginia's annual Day of Caring.

Day of Caring provides an opportunity for employees to help others through hands-on experience and see where their donations go and how agency programs are affecting people’s lives.

The 2008 event was a joint effort between multiple Campbell County departments.  The project in Altavista was to replace a handicap ramp for a citizen in Altavista who is wheelchair bound. The existing ramp was unsafe and in extremely poor condition.

Participation in the Day of Caring is an annual tradition for County employees. In recent years this has involved a local partnership between Rebuilding Together, Lyn-Cag and the United Way.
