Campbell County Economic Development's Start Small Campbell Grant Program awarded $5,000 grants to two local businesses recently established in Campbell County: Optimized Leadership Coaching and Consulting, LLC, and Speechless No More, LLC.
Start Small Campbell Grant Program is a $5,000 grant for new businesses or businesses opening for the first time in Campbell County. To be eligible, business owners submit an online application that includes a detailed business plan. Other requirements include an in-person business consultation session and two Start Smart online business training courses from the Small Business Development Center – Lynchburg Region. Up to four $5000 grants are offered each year.
Michelle Cabell, owner of Optimized Leadership Coaching and Consulting, LLC, 24 Arbor Place, Lynchburg, Virginia, has nearly three decades of experience as an executive and leader. The mission of her company is to motivate women leaders to maximize their influence, effectiveness, and impact on the world. The company offers executive coaching for individuals and teams, leadership development facilitation, webinars, personality assessments, and project facilitation. Ms. Cabell plans to use the grant to implement a multi-pronged online marketing strategy as well as create and maintain digital courses for her clients to purchase.
The Lynchburg, Virginia-based Speechless No More, LLC provides speech therapy services to underserved populations, such as three- to five-year-olds and adults without insurance. Tina Allis has worked as a speech-language pathologist in this area since 2005. Ms. Allis intends to use the grant to purchase specialized therapy equipment, obtain electronic medical recordkeeping services, and to market her services to area physicians.
