[ARCHIVED] Campbell County Administrative Offices Closed Monday, January 17 Due to Impending Winter Storm

CCVADPER News Item -Snow Closure

RUSTBURG, VA - On Monday, January 17, 2022, Campbell County Administrative Offices, including the Campbell County Public Library System, will be closed due to impending inclement weather.

Vital public safety and law enforcement services will operate as normally scheduled.

In addition, citizens are reminded that although Public Works staff will make every effort to keep transfer stations clear, there may be some areas where clearing collection sites and trash processing are delayed as crews work through this snow event.  As a result, please help in this effort by waiting to take trash to convenience centers until after the snow event has passed, and roadways and access areas are clear. This will allow our crews time to safely remove snow from these stations.

The Campbell County Department of Public Safety has closely monitored the approaching storm, in collaboration with partners at the National Weather Service and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

At this time, weather experts are projecting that Campbell County could experience significant snow fall on Sunday afternoon, followed by sleet Sunday night into Monday morning.  These conditions can create dangerous driving conditions, as well as cause downed trees and power lines. These projections could change as information becomes available.

For weather preparedness tips, including best practices if unable to shelter in place, please visit: www.campbellcountyva.gov, or follow the Campbell County Department of Public Safety social media sites on Facebook or Twitter at @CCVADPER.

Stay safe, Campbell!
