[ARCHIVED] Campbell County Departments Launch Online Social Media Platforms

Campbell County strives to maintain an updated website, where citizens can locate various programs, services and information to help keep them informed. Coinciding with continual website updates, there are five Campbell County departments which operate social media sites to better connect community members with County news and vital public information.

Today, two more joined in - the Department of Public and Employee Relations, and the Office of the Registrar.

The Department of Public and Employee Relations, created in 2016, is responsible for work/community relationship management, media relations and marketing, FOIA processing, talent recruitment, position advertising and interview administration, employee recognition, training and career development, and emergency/crisis communications.

"Our philosophy is putting the cookies on the lowest shelf; we want to make it as easy as possible for citizens to find the services they need," said Sherry F. Harding, director. "Our goal is to build upon the relationships Campbell County has fostered, and encourage dialogue between the citizens and their government."

The Department of Public and Employee Relations plans to feature items such their quarterly Campbell County Works videos, employment opportunities, and highlight county events or special attractions.  Likewise, the site may also feature local businesses, or tourism sites of interest.

The Office of the Registrar, located at 41 Courthouse Lane in Rustburg, is overseen by Kelly Martin, who shares a similar outlook regarding citizens and local government.

"We want Campbell County citizens to know that we are here for them; we are here to help, and to answer their questions," said Martin, Campbell County Registrar.  "We plan to highlight voting deadlines, polling locations and reminders on our page, and remind citizens of the importance of their right to vote."
