Citizens should be aware that field work for the next Campbell County real estate reassessment is currently underway. Wampler-Eanes Appraisal Group Ltd., hired by the Campbell County Board of Supervisors, is conducting the reassessment of all real property in the county.
Those doing the field work will have identification and will have identifying magnets on their vehicles. They will take pictures of some properties. They will not be doing any interior inspections.
The field work will continue through August of 2018.
State law requires that all property be assessed at 100 percent of fair market value and mandates equity throughout the county. Because the population of Campbell County now exceeds 50,000, the reassessment cycle takes place every four years.
The most recent reassessment was completed and became effective on Jan. 1, 2015. The field work underway is for the reassessment that will become effective on Jan. 1, 2019.
Wampler-Eanes is located in Daleville, VA.
