The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Community Safety Event on Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., that will include a Drug Take-Back collection station, a shred truck, and car seat checks. All the services are free and open to the public.

The event will take place in the parking lot of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, located at 87 Courthouse Lane, Rustburg.

The Drug Take-Back collection is being done in conjunction with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Drug Take-Back.

People can anonymously dispose of outdated and unused prescription drugs. No questions or requests for identification will be made and medication labels will not be read.

Syringes/needles, “sharps,” and scalpels will not be accepted.

Unused prescription drugs are a concern for the public and for law enforcement because of possible accidental ingestion by children and the potential for theft and illegal consumption.

For more information about the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office event, contact Rhonda Mason at 434-332-9580 or RLMason@campbellcountyva.gov.
