The Office of Environmental Management recently distributed postcards notifying select property owners of routine inspections of their stormwater management facilities which are slated to begin May 1, 2018. If you are among those that received a postcard notification, please be aware County staff will begin conducting inspections of the stormwater management facilities and Best Management Practices (BMP’s) that are located on your property.
These facilities/practices were installed as part of an approved development plan. At such time, an official Stormwater Management Maintenance Agreement was executed and recorded in the Campbell County Clerk of Court’s Land Records Office. This legal document set forth maintenance requirements. This agreement runs with the land, therefore regardless of the transfer of ownership, the agreement remains in place. You should have a copy of this agreement, if not, a copy can be found in the Clerk of Court’s Office, located at 732 Village Highway, Rustburg, VA. If you are unsure of what this agreement looks like, please click here to view a sample.
Upon completion of our inspections, you may be notified by letter, identifying any deficiencies that were discovered along with the necessary corrective action(s) needed, and a time frame of when the corrective items shall be completed.
For questions or additional information, please feel free to contact Brian Stokes, Environmental Manager, via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org, or at (434) 592-9506.
Thank you for your cooperation, as we conduct inspections in the coming months.
