[ARCHIVED] Campbell County Youth Advisory Council Accepting Applications

The Campbell County Youth Advisory Council is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 council year.

The Youth Advisory Council is made up of 13 students representing public schools, private schools, home schools, and alternative schools.

The council explores, communicates, and serves needs, problems, and issues affecting youth in Campbell County. Being a member of the council fosters leadership skills and educates youth on local government operations.

In addition, the Youth Advisory Council serves as a youth advocacy team working on building relationships with pertinent stakeholders and citizens to address youth-related needs as well as collaboratively plan and implement identified changes.

Those interested in serving on this council must:

  • Be a Campbell County resident or attend school in Campbell County
  • Be in grades 9-12 (public/private school, home school, or alternative school)
  • Have an interest in community service, representing youth, and developing leadership qualities
  • Have parental support/approval toward serving on the Youth Advisory Council 

Council members will be required to attend an initial meeting with a parent or guardian present, attend monthly meetings and serve at various scheduled activities.
