About Chief Deputy Guthrie

Maj. L.T. Guthrie has been a Campbell County Deputy Sheriff since 1989. During this time, he has held a number of positions within the department.

In 1994, Guthrie was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 1996, Guthrie was promoted again to Investigator and served in several areas, including include general investigations and the narcotics unit.

In 2004, Guthrie was named Captain of the Criminal Investigations Unit, which includes general investigations, narcotics investigations, and cybercrime investigations.

Sheriff Hutcherson named Guthrie as his Chief Deputy Sheriff on Jan. 1, 2012.

Guthrie lives in the Brookneal area of Campbell County and has two children.
